Former Big Brother Mzansi housemate Mfanele Jareed Nduku has landed a gig as guest host of comedy talent competition Show Me Your Funny.
Jareed made the announcement via an Instagram video on Tuesday (30 April).
Jareed to host ‘Show Me Your Funny’
“Show Me Your Funny Season 1 is here you beautiful people and we call upon those who think they’re funny. This one is for the funny ones, the ones who can spark humour in conversations, skits, comedic acting and standup comedy. Pull through,” he wrote.
According to its website, the show aims to create “the next big comedian in South Africa.” The winner will get a cash prize of R50,000 along with a nationwide tour. They will also win a public relations and management deal worth R100,000.
The show’s judges include:
- Multi-award-winning comedian Tumi Stopnonsons, real name Tumelo Matilda.
- Professional chef, media personality and comedian Lebogang Tlokane, also known as The Funny Chef.
- Comedian Carpo.
Zola Ayabulela Myeza, also known as Zee Lovin, will serve as host, with Jareed as guest host. It’s unclear at this stage on which media platform the show will air or stream.
How to enter the competition
To enter the show, WhatsApp your three-minute audition video to 069 277 8076. The video should showcase your comedic skills, the website says.
Oh Media House production company, which was created by event producer Pleasure Mmutle, is behind the show. Mmutle was the producer and head of operations for the first annual Amapiano Awards.
This is Jareed’s first major gig since exiting the Big Brother Mzansi house, where he weaved dynamic storylines with fellow housemates Liema, Mpumi and Els that had many viewers on tenterhooks.
