Global technology company Amazon currently has 75 open jobs in South Africa as it prepares to launch its local e-commerce platform.
Amazon.co.za will launch this year, according to an update on About Amazon in October 2023.
The platform “will provide independent sellers throughout the country an opportunity to rapidly launch, grow and scale their businesses while leveraging the innovative capabilities provided by Amazon,” the company said.
The company has had a presence in South Africa since 2004, starting off as Elastic Compute Cloud before falling under the umbrella of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The majority of the company’s vacancies in South Africa fall under AWS. Some are in Amazon Retail, Student Programs, Human Resources and Legal, among others.
