On Friday (26 August), the Department of Public Service and Administration published its DPSA Circular 32 of 2022, which job seekers in South Africa can now view or download.
The Department publishes the Circular every week to advertise the latest vacancies in various national departments and provincial administrations across the country.

You can view the latest government vacancies as published in Circular 32 of 2022 PDF on the Department’s website. The document can also be downloaded on your device, be it a smartphone, tablet or computer.
The Department also has a separate webpage where you can choose which national department or provincial government jobs to view. This makes it easier to zoom in to your preferred province or department instead of scrolling through the Circular itself which is 220 pages long.
It is important to note that if you have queries about a vacancy in a specific department or province, you need to contact that institution directly, not the DPSA.
‘Nyukela’ certificate
In a new development, DPSA announced on Thursday (26 August) that it is conducting weekly checks to ensure that advertisements for Senior Management Service (SMS) contain the requirement for the certificate of competence in administration.
The certificate, dubbed “Nyukela,” is applicable to public servants and citizens who wish to apply for SMS jobs. These jobs start at Level 13 until 16 in the public service.
“When it is observed that a department has not complied with the requirement in the advertisement and accompanying notes, it is referred back to the department to correct,” the Department said.
The Nyukela certificate course is part of the government’s efforts to professionalise the public service. It is administered by the National School of Government (NSG) at a cost of R400 per participant.
It takes about 120 hours to complete the course. Although it is not a requirement when applying, successful applicants must complete it successfully and obtain the certificate before they are appointed.
More information about the certificate is available on the NSG website. To register and pay for the course, visit the NSG’s e-learning webpage.
“Once you have completed the registration form and paid online, the system will generate an email with your login details. Your login details will be sent to the email address you provided on the registration form on the same day,” the NSG advises.
