Mobile operator Vodacom has revealed it will launch its iPhone 12 sales in South Africa on 18 December, 2020.

This is in line with the official iPhone 12 release date in South Africa (18 December, 2020), which was confirmed to MyBroadband by an industry source last week.

Full range on offer

In a statement on Wednesday, Vodacom said it will offer the full range of Apple’s latest smartphones, including iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

“With a beautiful all-new design, iPhone 12 family models feature unparalleled new camera systems, edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays for a more immersive viewing experience, the biggest jump in durability with the Ceramic Shield front cover, and Apple-designed A14 Bionic chip, the fastest chip in a smartphone,” the operator said.

Eager fans can pre-order the iPhone 12 devices from Vodacom one week before the official launch – from 11 December, 2020.

Pricing uncertainty

However, Vodacom did not immediately reveal its iPhone 12 price details in South Africa.

Unlike in previous years, there has been much uncertainty about the release date and pricing of the new model in 2020.

South Africa’s other mobile operators, including MTN, Telkom, Cell C and Rain, had not yet announced their iPhone 12 details at the time of writing.
