The government has raised the licensing threshold for embedded power generation in South Africa from 1MW to 100MW, President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced.
Eskom has announced that it will increase load shedding to stage 4 from 14h00 until 22h00 on Wednesday (9 June).
Eskom will suspend load shedding from 12h00 to 17h00 on Friday to allow Parliament to pass various appropriation bills.

This is the second time in several days that Eskom has implemented load shedding, signalling a deterioration of South Africa’s power supply constraints.
