The 2023 Takealot Black Friday sale will be offered through the much-anticipated five-day Blue Dot Sale, which will launch 1 minute past midnight on Black Friday (24 November).
Deals will then be added daily over the weekend, on Cyber Monday (27 November) and on Takealot Tuesday (28 November), the online store revealed in a statement this week.
Takealot Black Friday sale 2023
South Africans can expect up to 50% discounts on thousands of products during the Takealot Black Friday sale 2023. Early Access to the Blue Dot Sale will also run from 19 to 23 November.
Specials will be available on “TVs, kitchen appliances, large appliances (washing machines, fridges, dishwashers), beauty, sport, toys and now, Takealot’s ALOT for Less offering, and bulk household essentials,” the online retailer said.
24-hour live shopping
Takealot will also bring back its Black Friday 24-hour live shopping experience, which proved popular on social media last year. It will feature product launches, giveaways, “extra-special” guests and interactive shopping events with exclusive deals. The event will be streamed simultaneously on Facebook and Instagram, starting just before midnight.
TakealotNOW
For the first time, Takealot will offer Blue Dot Sale deals on TakealotNOW, its on-demand delivery service available on the Mr D app. It will release these specials at 10pm on Thursday, 23 November.
“Deals have been expertly curated based on what South Africans need and want most in the soonest possible amount of time, allowing shoppers to snap up Black Friday deals and have them delivered to their door within minutes,” the ecommerce platform explained.
TakealotNow is available in the following areas:
- Cape Town: Durbanville, Bellville, Brackenfell, Kraaifontein, Kuilsriver and Parow.
- Johannesburg: Sandton, Rivonia, Bryanston, Cresta, Fourways, Rosebank and Northgate.
Last year, over 3 million customers visited Takealot on Black Friday, with one shopper placing a whopping 58 orders in 24 hours. The Hisense 58″ Smart TV had the highest gross merchandise value (GMV), while the Samsung 75″ Smart TV worth R78,260 was the most-valuable item sold on the day.
