Rain WiFi prices for new customers have gone up, according to the latest figures for RainOne packages on the South African mobile operator’s website.
The price adjustments coincide with Rain’s launch of its new 5G smart router called the101, which new customers can get on a free-to-use basis. The router has a touch screen display and boasts several other features such as AX3600 Wi-Fi, scan to connect, direct messaging and built-in speed test.
It also comes with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage and an internal SIM, which means you do not have to insert a physical SIM card. Other features include a MediaTek T750 chipset, 4-core Arm CA55 processor and 4×4 MIMO antennas.
Rain WiFi prices and packages
The latest Rain WiFi prices start at R595 for a 30Mbps uncapped 5G connection and go up to R1,370 for a 100Mbps 5G connection. All fixed connections include two mobile 4G SIMs with varying voice, data and SMS allocations per month.

Additional 1GB data (excluding level-based discounts) will cost R50, while additional voice minutes (excluding level-based discounts) will cost R1.
Rain is offering the packages on a month-to-month basis. You can sign up to a RainOne package or upgrade on their website or by requesting a sales call (via the website). Router delivery will take place within three to five days once your order is processed, and the courier will RICA the device upon delivery. Alternatively, you can visit any Rain store across South Africa to sign up.
