Prices
Capitec funeral cover prices start from R40 per month if you apply at a branch or R25 per month if you use the Capitec Bank app to get cover. Your monthly premiums will depend on your unique circumstances, including the number of people you wish to add to your cover.
“Get cover for one spouse and up to four parents, eight children and eight extended family members – all on one plan. Only pay what you can afford. You tell us how many people you want to cover and we calculate the premium. Alternatively, tell us what you can afford, and we calculate the cover,” the bank says.
Waiting period
The waiting period is six months under normal circumstances. In the case of Voluntary Policy Pause, the initial waiting period is 24 months.

Age limit
As the table above shows, the lower age limit is 18 years for the policy holder and spouse, zero years (newborn) for children and extended family members, and 26 years for parents. The upper age limit is 64 years for the policy holder and spouse, 24 years for children, and 85 years for parents and extended family members.
