Friday may be the end of the week, but it’s also time to check out the South African government’s latest job vacancies as posted in DPSA Circular 30 of 2023.
The Department of Public Service and Administration published the circular on 25 August, although it emphasised that it is not responsible for the content of the advertisements contained therein.
Circular 30 of 2023
You can check out vacant posts in South Africa’s public service in DPSA’s Circular 30 of 2023 here. It is more than 200 pages long and possibly contains hundreds of available positions.
The Department directed government entities to assess and select candidates in accordance with the “relevant measures” that apply to employment in the public service. These include applicable qualifications such as certificates, diplomas or degrees.
Other measures include experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and where applicable, additional requirements such as the senior management pre-entry course (Nyukela) and security clearance.
“Where vacancies have been identified to promote representativeness, the provisions of sections 15 (affirmative action measures) and 20 (employment equity plan) of the Employment Equity Act, 1998 should be applied,” the Department added.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, the Minister of Public Service and Administration, Noxolo Kiviet, signed a compact with the Human Resources Development Council’s social partners on building a capable and developmental state.
According to the DPSA, the compact will “significantly boost the National Implementation Framework towards the Professionalisation of the Public Sector.” It also establishes a “clear roadmap” for improving government employees’ skills.
Here’s the very best of luck to all job applicants!
