The much-anticipated Metro FM Music Awards 2023 are finally here and naturally, South Africans are eager for details such as tickets prices (including for the after party), nominees, date, venue and hosts.
Fortunately, the event’s organisers have gone out of their way to make this information readily available. We summarise the most important details in this article to make your preparation as seamless as possible.
Metro FM Music Awards 2023 tickets prices
If you’re planning to attend, see the Metro FM Music Awards 2023 tickets prices below:
- R500: Field Seating – Golden Circle – Reserved Seating.
- R300: Lower Tier – Unreserved Seating.
- R150: Upper Tier – Unreserved Seating.
You can buy tickets online via Computicket. The event officially starts at 20h00 (8pm) and will run for two hours. Online ticket sales will end one hour after the event starts.
“Please collect your tickets at any Computicket store or at any Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, House and Home or at selected OK Furniture and Usave stores before the event, as there will be no collection facilities at the venue,” Computicket says on its website.
“Tickets MAY NOT be collected by a third party. Patrons need to present a passport or ID document at the collection point. Credit card used to make the booking must be presented when collecting tickets.”
Metro FM Awards 2023 date and venue
This year, the prestigious Metro FM Awards will take place on Saturday, 6 May 2023 at the Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela, Mpumalanga province. Don’t worry if you cannot make it there, because you can still watch it on SABC 1 and online on the SABC+ app and Metro FM‘s YouTube channel.
After Party tickets
If you’d like to have more fun after the official event, you can also buy the Metro FM Awards 2023 After Party tickets via Computicket starting at R350. The After Party will start at 22h00 (10pm) on Saturday, 6 May and end at 06h00 (6am) on Sunday, 7 May.
It will feature popular artistes such as Dj Tira, Big Zulu, Sjava, Babes Wodumo, Musa Keys, Boohle, Big Nuz, Toss, LKG, Dj Lesoul, Sphe & Naves, Cubique Dj, Dosline, Dj Smith (BOSSO), Dj SGO, Ezra and Leehleza.
Hosts
The Metro FM Music Awards 2023 hosts are Katlego Maboe and Lerato Kganyago, who will be the main presenters. Somizi (SomGAGA) Mhlongo, Mpumi Mlambo, Sipho (Alphi) Mkhwanazi and Zanele Potelwa will back them up.
“SomGAGA and Mpumi will be holding it down behind the ‘Black Curtain,’ while Alphi and Zanele give us the blow-by-blow action and the glitz and glam of the ‘Black Carpet,’ Metro FM said.
Voting
Although voting for this year’s Metro FM Awards closed on 30 April 2023 for all other categories, you can still vote for Song of The Year until 21h00 (9pm) on Saturday, 6 May 2023. To vote, simply dial *120*45787# on your cellphone and follow the prompts. The USSD rate is R1.50 per minute.
