South Africans looking for new job vacancies in the public service can find them in DPSA Circular 7 of 2023, which was published on Friday, 24 February.
The Department of Public Service and Administration issues the vacancy circular every week on behalf of all government departments, institutions and provincial administrations.

Visit the Department’s website here to view DPSA Circular 7 of 2023, which is in PDF and is 235 pages long. As is always the case, the job vacancies are spread across South Africa, not just the administrative capital of Pretoria.
Alternatively, visit their newsroom webpage to view links to the various entities that have made job advertisements. This is particularly useful if you have a preferred department or province that you wish to work for.
Meanwhile, Acting Public Service and Administration Minister Thulas Nxesi has emphasised the importance of the recently introduced National Framework Towards the Professionalisation of the Public Service.
Speaking during the Public Service Compliance and Human Resources Conference this week, Nxesi said that the Framework “will ensure that only ethical, qualified and competent individuals are appointed into positions of authority.”
“The framework introduces measures to capacitate current public officials with the competencies required for productivity, leadership and performance management,” he added.
The Framework is based on five pillars:
- Pre-entry, recruitment and selection.
- Induction and onboarding.
- Planning and performance management.
- Continuous learning and professional development.
- Career progression and management of career incidents.
