If you wish to enjoy more content on your Showmax account, you need to know how to upgrade Showmax plan from your current subscription to a higher one.
The online streaming platform has gained immense popularity in recent years thanks to the hundreds of local and international movies and series it makes available to viewers.
It’s no wonder that more South Africans – and Africans – are upgrading their plans so they don’t miss out on amazing shows. This article outlines how to do it.
How to upgrade Showmax plan
To upgrade Showmax plan from your existing subscription, you first need to sign into your account on the Showmax website.
Next, click or tap on “My Account” from the top menu bar under your username. Next, click “Manage Subscription.” You will then view the benefits and features of each Showmax plan. Be sure to understand the difference between what you currently have and what your new plan offers.
Once you’re sure about upgrading, simply choose the plan you wish to upgrade to and follow the prompts. This includes making a payment, after which the upgrade becomes effective immediately.
“Any remaining days from your previous plan are converted into a credit voucher and stored in the Payment method section on the same page. Vouchers can automatically be redeemed when switching back to the previous plan,” Showmax explains on its website.
You can upgrade your Showmax subscription according to the options below:
- From Showmax Mobile to Showmax.
- From Showmax to Showmax Pro.
- From Showmax Mobile to Showmax Pro Mobile.
- From Showmax Pro Mobile to Showmax Pro.
- From Showmax to Showmax Pro Mobile.
- From Showmax Mobile to Showmax Pro.
Remember – you can always switch back or downgrade to your previous plan by also logging into your Showmax account and following the steps outlined above.
The only difference is that a downgrade is not effective immediately. When you change to a lower plan, your current plan will remain in place until the end of your monthly billing cycle.
Once you reach the end of this cycle, your new plan will start, and your account will now reflect the new price.
“If you had any credit days stored as a voucher in the newly selected plan from a previous switch – you can use the credit at this time,” the streaming platform states.
