If you’re in South Africa and looking for a job in the public service, you can check DPSA Circular 5 of 2023 which the government issued on 10 February.
The latest vacancy circular has more than 300 pages of job advertisements across national and provincial spheres of government. This offers a chance to many unemployed South Africans to start a career in the public service.
DPSA Circular 5 of 2023
The Department of Public Service and Administration has published DPSA Circular 5 of 2023 on its vacancies website here. The PDF document also has directions for applicants on how to apply or who to contact in case they have inquiries.
If you wish to peruse jobs in a specific national department or provincial government, visit the DPSA’s newsroom page here. You will find separate links to each entity that has made vacancy announcements.
A total of 20 national departments or institutions have posted available positions along with all provinces except the Eastern Cape. This is an indication that the vacancies are spread out right across South Africa.
If you wish to learn how to apply using the Z83 form, you can view a guide made available by the DPSA here. The practice note indicates how applicants must fill the various parts of the form. Remember, you should attach your detailed Curriculum Vitae to the form.
At the application stage, you’re not required to provide certified copies of your qualifications or other relevant documents. These will be required only when you’re shortlisted for the job interview.
Always remember to complete and sign the declaration on the Z83 form. Additionally, use the correct reference number for your application and apply within the deadline.
Good luck to all applicants!
