As you check your R350 SASSA SRD status, you may wonder what it means and if there is anything you can do to resolve an issue affecting your grant application.
Luckily, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has prepared a list of status meanings to help applicants in this regard. In this article, we summarise these meanings and what you can do to ensure your application is successful.
R350 SASSA SRD status meanings
There are seven main SASSA SRD status meanings as outlined by the Agency:
1. Application complete
When your R350 SRD status says, “Application complete,” it means that you have completed the re-application process and you will be verified each month. What you must do: Check your verification and payment status each month on the SASSA SRD website.
2. Bank details pending
A “bank details pending” status means that your application or reapplication was received, but no banking details or preferences were received.
What you must do: Submit you banking details on the SRD website. Scroll down the page until you see the sub-heading, “How do I change my banking details.” Enter your ID number in the field provided and click “Submit.” You will then receive an SMS on the cellphone number you used during the application. This SMS will have a secure link, which you must click. Follow the instructions to submit your banking details.
3. Reapplication pending
“Reapplication pending” means that SASSA has not received your reapplication for the R350 SRD grant. What you must do: Submit an application on the SRD website.
4. Period (e.g., May) pending
This means that while your reapplication was successfully received, verification of the application for the month specified is pending. What you must do: Check the status again later in the month for an update.
5. Period (e.g., May) approved
This R350 status means that your application was approved for the specified month. What you must do: Check the pay day field for an indication of when you will receive your grant. If no pay day value is provided, no payment has been processed as yet.
6. Period (e.g., May) declined
This SRD status means that your application for the specified month was declined and the reason is provided. What you must do: If you feel the decision is not correct, you can request a reconsideration on the DSD SRD appeals website within 30 days but not exceeding 90 days.
7. Cancelled
This means that your application is cancelled. What you must do: If you wish to reinstate the grant, you can do so on the SRD reinstate webpage. Enter your ID number and cellphone number you used to submit your initial application. Click “Send PIN” and follow the prompts.
