20-year-old Afropop star Zee Nxumalo is back with a bang following the release of her amapiano-leaning single titled Sobabili featuring amapiano pioneers MFR Souls and Profound.
Sobabili is the lead single ahead of Zee’s upcoming project, KwaNxumalo (Deluxe), which is set to feature the likes of award-winning local stars Azana and Mlindo The Vocalist. The project comes out on 10 February.

Last year, a then 19-year-old Zee burst onto the scene with her mesmeric Afropop songs Siyajola, Hamba and Pholile featuring Azana. She followed this up with the release of her debut EP, KwaNxumalo, which saw her dubbed South Africa’s next big star by several media outlets.
In the midst of all of this, she struck gold with her collaboration with Zandimaz titled Maphupho, which became a viral hit on TikTok.
“Last year was my first year as a professional artist and it’s been such a fun and eye-opening journey so far,” says Zee.
“I finally feel like I’m finding my feet and figuring things out in the music industry now. My team told me that the previous project is sitting on 250K streams and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can go even harder this time around. Sobabili is just me having fun and enjoying myself again – that’s what we’re going to be doing all year.”
You can listen to Sobabili on YouTube. You can also pre-add or pre-save Zee’s upcoming KwaNxumalo (Deluxe) on all digital streaming platforms.
