DStv Access has marked its 10-year anniversary by adding the popular BET (DStv Channel 129) to its list of channels, the pay TV service announced on Monday (14 November).
In addition, DStv Compact subscribers will start viewing Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) immediately and at no additional cost.
What to watch on ‘BET’ this summer
BET is home to a variety of shows, specials and films from the best Black creators. Here’s what you can expect from its summer slate:
‘Redemption’ (Season 1) | Monday – Thursday at 18:00
The story is set in a mega church, and centres around the Zikhode family. After the disappearance of head pastor Simon Zikhode, his daughter Faith, who is on the cusp of an international music career, drops everything to come to her family’s rescue.
As Faith immerses herself in the church and the family’s affairs, she uncovers devastating secrets about those closest to her and is confronted with her own skeletons. Dark truths come to light, and the Zikhode family are faced with many baffling decisions as they scramble to salvage the family’s legacy.

BET is bringing the Soul Train Awards back to Las Vegas for the annual event’s 2022 edition. The awards show aims to recognise the year’s top soul, R&B, and hip-hop artists.
Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige lead the 2022 Soul Train Awards nominations with seven nods each. Ari Lennox follows with six nods. Lizzo and Chris Brown are tied at five nods each, followed by Burna Boy, Muni Long and Steve Lacy with four nods. Bruno Mars, Anderson.Paak, Silk Sonic, PJ Morton and Tems each garnered three nominations.
