Job hunters in South Africa can now view the latest government vacancies as advertised in DPSA Circular 39 of 2022 on Friday, 14 October.
This is yet another opportunity to land a public service job. The Department of Public Service and Administration releases a vacancy circular every Friday throughout the year, expect in the last weeks of December.
DPSA Circular 39 of 2022
You can see or download the latest government vacancies published in DPSA Circular 39 of 2022 on the Department’s website here. The 204-page document is in PDF and is annexed according to each department or provincial administration.
The DPSA’s newsroom page has also published links to 19 departments and seven provinces that have made vacancy advertisements. This makes it easier to navigate directly to your preferred entity instead of perusing the entire circular.
As is always the case, make sure to contact the specific entity in case you have any inquiries about a specific job advertisement. Do not contact the DPSA.
Remember to submit your application on form Z83, which captures your complete details such as qualifications, experience and competencies. Before submitting your application, confirm that you’re using the correct reference number for the vacancy.
Public cautioned against job scams
In related news, the DPSA Director-General Yoliswa Makhasi has cautioned job seekers against job scams that are falsely presented as the Department’s recruitment process.
In a statement issued earlier this week, Makhasi said these scams have been advertised on internet websites, social media and via email. They falsely claim that the department has launched an online application portal for interested applicants who want to serve as ad-hoc staff.
The scam may be seeking to obtain money or personal details from unsuspecting members of the public. “We are not aware of this fraudulent portal; therefore, we want to plead with South Africans to exercise extreme caution when they receive this fraudulent correspondence,” the Director-General said.
“Vacant posts in the public service are advertised on the Public Service Vacancy Circular (PSVC) which is found on the DPSA website. The PSVC is the only portal where government posts are advertised with instructions on how to apply for advertised posts always contained in the vacancy circular.
“We want to reiterate that there has not been any other online portal unveiled by the DPSA. If you have received such fraudulent correspondence, we humbly request that you terminate all further contacts with the sender.”
Makhasi urged members of the public to report such fake correspondences to the SA Police Service or to the National Anti-Corruption Hotline on 0800 701 701 for appropriate action.
