The much-coveted Shoprite bursary 2023 academic year applications are now open, the Shoprite Group announced in a statement on Wednesday (7 July).
The Group said it supports around 300 students every year at a cost of approximately R17 million. The all-inclusive bursaries cover tuition fees and on-campus accommodation.
Beneficiaries will also have access to Shoprite’s employee wellness programme, which includes medical advice, counselling services, financial coaching and legal advice.
Furthermore, the bursaries come with a “work-back agreement” which guarantees bursary holders employment upon graduation as well as “invaluable practical experience and strong career growth prospects at the Group.”
“With staggering youth unemployment levels, the Shoprite Group’s bursary programme gives highly motivated and ambitious students the best possible start to their careers,” the Group’s Senior Early Careers Talent Specialist Lungile Koti said.
“We are looking to invest in youth that want to grow and develop into the future leaders of our industry.”
