Global technology giant Huawei has officially launched the HUAWEI MateBook B Series in South Africa, signalling its entry into the commercial laptop market.
According to an official statement from the company, the new series is aimed at enhancing smart productivity in the business world in an era of coexistence of multiple screens – phones, tablets, laptops and PCs.
HUAWEI MateBook B Series in South Africa
Three HUAWEI MateBook B Series devices are now available in South Africa – the HUAWEI MateBook B7-410, B3-420 and B3-520. Each device in comes with “impressive all-new upgrades across processors and displays,” the company said.
Designed for professionals and businesspeople, the B7-410 is Huawei’s flagship lightweight business laptop. It comes with an ultra-slim metallic unibody, FullView Display, Huawei Share, an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processor and HUAWEI Free Touch.
The B3-420 and B3-520 laptops are slim, lightweight, have a metallic design and are designed for younger users. They also come with FullView Display and an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processor.
All the three devices have the Huawei’s Multi-screen Collaboration pre-installed, allowing users to integrate them with Huawei smartphones. “Simply tapping your handset against your laptop allows you to access both devices on a single screen, which offers significant productivity advantages,” Huawei explained.
Security
Easier integration however doesn’t mean the laptop range poses any security risks, the company assured its customers. “Huawei knows that protecting a business’ data is one of its greatest priorities, which is why the series features a TPM2.0 security chip that safeguards data confidentiality, integrity and usability,” it added.
The chip saves and manages BIOS and hard-drive passwords while also supporting the encryption of system and app login credentials.
“This means it can encrypt the credentials of employees’ online banking, messaging and email apps when they log in, providing additional security for any data that’s still in transit,” Huawei said.
Security is further enhanced by a fingerprint power button, which biometrically authenticates a user’s identity when they’re powering on their device, taking them directly to their desktop in one simple step.
The flagship HUAWEI MateBook B7-410 weighs just 1.33kg and features a 13.9-inch 3K touch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 91%. The B3-520 and B3-420 models have also received the TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light to help reduce eye strain.
All three laptops come with high-speed Wi-Fi 6Â support with transfer speeds of up to 2.4Gbps.
