Big Brother Mzansi auditions 2024 opened on Wednesday, 11 October and interested South Africans can now fill an application form online for a chance to enter the popular competition.
In a statement this week, Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) said season 4 of the hit reality show “promises to be bigger and better than ever.” It added, “To stand a chance to be the next winner of Big Brother Mzansi season 4, applicants need to be creative, memorable, and have the wit to outplay and outlast their fellow housemates.”
Big Brother Mzansi auditions 2024 application form
You can access the application form for Big Brother Mzansi auditions 2024 on the Mzansi Magic DStv website here. Auditions will be held between 1 and 20 November 2023, so you probably need to submit your application before 1 November.
Knowing how to apply is easy. The first step is to accept the terms and conditions on the application form. After ticking the box, click “Next” and fill in your details, which include names, contact details, address, hobbies, occupation, image and COVID-19 vaccination status, among others.
The third step is to upload a video of yourself, which should not be longer than two minutes. And that’s it – click “Finish” to complete your application. If your application is successful and you go on to win the competition, you will win R1 million “and it could be as high as a mouth-watering R2 million,” the organisers said.
However, before you apply, it is important to know the competition’s terms and conditions, which are summarised below.
Eligibility and requirements
First off, you must be at least 21 years of age by January 1 2024 and in excellent physical and mental health. You must also be a valid South African citizen or permanent resident of South Africa as of 1 October 2023 and in possession of a valid identity document.
“You must be willing to live in the Big Brother Mzansi house located in Johannesburg with approximately a dozen or more strangers where you will have little or no privacy,” the producers said.
“If you are chosen to live in the house, it is your responsibility to make any necessary arrangements with your employer and family in anticipation of your extended absence.”
You need to be aware that the house is fitted with audio and video recording devices that will record and broadcast your actions 24/7 for as long as you’re in the house. This means that the general public will observe you at all times via TV, internet and mobile devices.
Other eligibility requirements include:
- If you are selected by the producers for the next phase of the auditions, you must avail yourself for a possible video interview.
- If you are selected for the next phase, you will be contacted via email. Make sure your email address is correct and check your email to see if you qualify.
- All selected applicants would receive their email no later than the 22 December 2023. If you do not receive an email by this date, you have not been selected.
- If you are selected by the producer for an interview in the semi-finals, you must be willing and able to travel to Johannesburg at a time as scheduled by the producer in its sole discretion for the final selection process.
- If selected as a semi-finalist, you must complete the Participant Form Package, which includes, among others, psychological and medical assessments (including blood and urine tests) and a confidentiality agreement.
Video submission guidelines
According to the producers, your video must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Video must be maximum two minutes in length.
- The maximum two-minute video should end with you completing the sentence, “I would make a perfect housemate because…”
- Video must contain your Name, E-mail and Phone Number clearly stated.
