Tech news publication MyBroadband has revealed the Huawei Mate 40 Pro price in South Africa ahead of the device’s reported launch on 1 April 2021.
Local Huawei fans have been eagerly waiting for the high-end device’s release, with industry experts predicting significant movement in its category.

Citing information received from Huawei South Africa, the publication said the recommended retail Huawei Mate 40 Pro price in South Africa is R19,999.
Fans can buy the smartphone on both postpaid and prepaid options. However, it is expected that postpaid sales will be the mainstay of this premium device.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro specs
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro boasts several top-end specifications, including a 6.76-inch OLED display with up to 90 Hz refresh rate and a FHD+ 2772 x 1344 pixels resolution.
It runs on the HUAWEI Kirin 9000 processor and EMUI 11.0 operating system (based on Android 10) with Huawei Mobile Services instead of Google Mobile Services.
This means that users can get apps from Huawei AppGallery instead of Google Play Store. Other specifications include 8 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM memory and a next-generation Space Ring camera system with a 50MP primary lens for the rear camera.
Users can also expect long battery life, as the device is powered by a 4,400 mAh battery. The device supports both wireless and reverse wireless charging.
Huawei claims the smartphone is splash, water and dust-resistant. It supports dual SIM insertion as well as WLAN (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth, USB and earjack connectivity.
The Mate 40 Pro’s audio and video streaming/playback is powered by HUAWEI Histen, support stereo sound.
