Nigerian Afrobeat hitmaker Maquinox has released a sizzling new single, Ifo Ne-Eme featuring Akapy, in the South African market.
The catchy single tells the story of a beautiful young Nigerian woman. Commenting on what inspired it, Maquinox says, “The song Ifo-Ne-Eme is a dance track that was inspired by true events. It tells about the story of a girl with a captivating beauty that caught my eyes.”
The talented artiste was born – and grew up – in the city of Benin in Edo State, Nigeria, in a polygamous family of nine children and three mothers.
“Growing up, music and football have always been my passion, but music and football were frankly not accepted by most parents as a career choice for their kids,” he says.
Recalling how he became a singer and songwriter, Maquinox says, “As a kid, I was inspired by good sounds and slowly fixed the lyrics together.
“I gained more skills in music as I listened and mimicked my favourite artistes at the time and I gained a great sense of reality in music while listening to the songs of the great Fela Kuti.”
EP coming up
Ifo-Ne-Eme is Maquinox’s first single released from his official EP dubbed The Income-ing. He says the album has nine quality tracks which are a must-listen for everyone.
He adds, “This single is the result of hard work by many talents including Bobby Combz (Producer/Artiste), Akapay (Producer/Artiste), Derby (Artiste) Uchezzy (Producer) and myself.
“Moving forward, my team and I are working music videos while cooking up some intriguing sounds for my next release in January 2021.”
