After an unusual delay compared to previous years, iStore has finally revealed the iPhone 12 prices and launch date in South Africa.

In an update on Friday, iStore South Africa said the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will officially launch on 18 December, 2020.

iPhone 12 prices in South Africa

Pricing for the iPhone 12 smartphone range in South Africa will start at R15,999. The devices will be available online and in-stores countrywide for both cash and contract options.

Delivery is also available. iStore added, “Customers have the choice of purchasing for cash or upgrading their MTN, Vodacom or Telkom contract at iStores nationwide or online.

“They are also able to complete their contract upgrade at iStore, no matter where they initially signed up and have the benefit of selecting from major networks all in one place.”

Trade-ins

iStore said customers can get up to R12,000 back when they trade in their current iPhone for a new one from the range.

Trade-ins are available both online and in-store. Customers can use a trade-in towards a cash or contract purchase of a new phone or receive it as an iStore voucher to be used at a later stage.

Customers who buy or upgrade their iPhone at iStore can also get free iCare Plus, which includes a screen replacement and one-year extended warranty (two years in total) valued at R1,999.

Furthermore, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini buyers will get the first six months of ReactPlus for free. A R39 per-month subscription fee will apply afterwards.

iStore’s announcement follows another one by mobile operator Vodacom earlier this week. It confirmed that it will offer the full iPhone 12 range from 18 December, 2020.
