The SA Revenue Service (SARS) has issued a reminder to individual taxpayers of a looming deadline for SARS tax returns 2020.
In a statement on Friday, SARS said Thursday, 22 October, 2020 is the deadline for taxpayers who wish to file their income tax return at a SARS branch.
How to make an appointment at SARS
“These taxpayers must remember to first make an appointment to see a SARS branch consultant due to the COVID-19 restrictions which are still applicable,” the Service added.
It said taxpayers can make their appointment via the following link: https://tools.sars.gov.za/SARSeBooking.
Alternatively, taxpayers can phone an agent for booking assistance via the following SARS contact details: 0800 117 277.
SARS extended operating hours
SARS said it has extended its branch operating hours until Thursday, 22 October, 2020 to cater for higher numbers of visitors.
SARS branches will therefore open from 08h00 to 18h00 everyday this week until Thursday.
Taxpayers who intend to file SARS tax returns 2020 at a branch must bring along all the applicable supporting documents, the Service said.
These include a “green bar-coded ID or driving licence, proof of residence, bank statement not older than three months, proof of income/pay slips/IRP5 and tax certificates.”
