Customers can look forward to two weeks of specials as part of Pick n Pay Black Friday 2020 plans.
The giant retailer announced on Wednesday that the extended Black Friday plans will involve limiting the number of customers in-store at any one time.
This is in line with current social distancing regulations, Pick n Pay’s retail executive John Bradshaw said.
“Black Friday is a very busy trading period, so we’re extending Black Friday to two weeks to keep our customers safe and able to shop for great deals at their leisure,” he added.
Bradshaw said planning with suppliers is underway to make sure all stores are well-stocked for the much-anticipated shopping bonanza.
He explained, “We really want all our customers to be able to get their favourite deals. We will also be opening as many tills as possible for customers to keep queues to an absolute minimum.”
Pick n Pay Black Friday online shopping
Bradshaw said the retailer will offer attractive specials for both online shoppers and in-store customers. The deals will cut across tech and appliances as well as food and pantry items.
Pick n Pay will also offer some online-only deals prior to offering them in-stores. Furthermore, it will announce new specials every few days.
The government implemented a hard lockdown earlier this year and this encouraged many customers to try online shopping for the first time, Bradshaw said.
He urged customers to register on the retailer’s website later this week to receive Pick n Pay Black Friday 2020 specials alerts.
Besides Pick n Pay, other retailers such as Game and Makro have also announced extended shopping periods.
Makro said earlier this week that it will run Black Friday specials for the entire month, starting on 2 November, 2020.
