This year’s Black Friday will be on 27 November, 2020, but Makro Black Friday 2020 deals will run for a whopping four weeks, the retailer announced on Monday.

The Makro specials this year will start from 2 November and run until 29 November, 2020.

Online component

There will also be a strong online component for shoppers who do not wish to visit the stores. These measures are in response to current social distancing regulations.

“Excited customers can rest assured knowing that they are safe when lining up for what is going to be a four-week-long event with massive deals,” the group said.

Makro will run new sales for each week. Such sales will only be available for the applicable week and will not be offered again.

The retailer therefore encouraged shoppers to take advantage of the weekly sales instead of waiting for the actual Black Friday date.

Makro Black Friday 2020: What to expect

Makro Black Friday 2020 will have a R90 delivery fee cap on all orders. However, this excludes extended range items and commercial orders.

The retailer will also offer 10 percent back in mRewards for the opening week (2 to 8 November). This applies to non-promotional general merchandise in-store and online.

Customers will also get free locker delivery on qualifying orders as well as 50 new Makro Black Friday deals every week.

Furthermore, shoppers making grocery orders via the One Cart app will get same day delivery.

Makro urged customers to register online to receive notifications as soon as the deals go live.

Game, which is part of the Massmart group with Makro, also urged shoppers to subscribe to its newsletter for immediate access to deals.

Given these extended Black Friday sales, this year’s shopping bonanza is likely to be the biggest ever.
