South Africans can now know the local prices for Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE after iStore South Africa listed them on its website on Friday (25 September, 2020).
Apple officially launched the two much-anticipated smartwatches last week. Both have 40mm and 44mm versions.
Buyers can also opt between regular devices and those that come with GPS and cellular, depending on their preferences.
The price listings mean that customers can now pre-order the smartwatches. However, iStore SA has not yet confirmed the Apple Watch Series 6 release date South Africa. The Apple Watch SE release date South Africa is similarly unconfirmed.
Apple Watch Series 6 South Africa price
The Apple Watch Series 6 South Africa price starts from R8,999, with the top-end devices in the series priced at R18,299.
The devices come in various colours, including space grey, blue, graphite, gold, silver and red. Customers can choose between stainless steel and aluminium cases.
The Series 6 is an improvement on the Series 5 mainly because of its new S6 processor. This makes it 20 percent faster while its battery life remains 18 hours. Furthermore, its SpO2 sensor measures the user’s oxygen saturation.
For full price details on each device, please visit the specific iStore SA Series 6 webpage here. Around 40 items are listed in the series.
Apple Watch SE South Africa price
Slightly easier on the pocket, the Apple Watch SE South Africa price starts at R6,499. The top-end devices retail at R8,199.
The SE devices’ colour variations are more limited compared to Series 6. They come in space grey, gold and silver. Similarly, customers only have the aluminium case to choose from.
The SE has the same S5 chipset used in 2019’s Apple Watch Series 5. The lower price tag would likely prove a bargain for a good number of Apple fans.
Customers can pre-order their preferred SE device from a dedicated webpage on iStore SA’s website here. 26 items are listed on this webpage.
