Mega rapper Kanye West has reiterated his big ambitions to become United States president one day.
West, 42, restated his dream in an interview with Apple Music’s Beats 1 show on Thursday.
He said, “There will be a time when I will be the president of the US, and I will remember… any founder that didn’t have the capacity to understand culturally what we were doing.”
Support for Donald Trump
The popular performer is known for his support for US President Donald Trump and had a highly publicised meeting with him at the White House in 2018.
On Thursday, he said his support for Trump, including wearing his signature “Make America Great Again” red hat, was a way of upsetting the Democrats.
“For the greatest artist in human existence to put a red hat on was God’s practical joke to all liberals. Like, ‘No! Not Kanye!'” he said.
West, who has dubbed himself Ye, has publicly professed his embrace of Christianity in recent months and has performed at numerous “Sunday Service” concerts.
Kanye West Jesus is King album
Although millions of fans around the world are impatiently waiting for his album Jesus is King, Kanye West kept them waiting a little longer on Friday.
He sought to reassure his 29 million followers on Twitter with a placating message on the same day.
“To my fans, thank you for being loyal and patient. We are specifically fixing mixes on Everything We Need, Follow God and Water. We not going to sleep until this album is out!” he wrote.
The album is expected to have heavy evangelical themes in keeping with his recent comments.
Ye’s celebrity wife Kim Kardashian initially announced its release date as 27 September. They pushed it to 29 September, but didn’t release it.
Meanwhile, he also announced 25 December as the release date of another album, Jesus is Born.
