Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has rebuffed Helen Zille’s tea invitation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Zille extended an invitation to Malema via Twitter to her podcast show, which she has dubbed “Tea with Helen.”
Hi there @Julius_S_Malema. I would like to invite you as a guest on my podcast #TeaWithHelen for a no-holds-barred discussion on SA’s future prospects.
My diary is quite flexible, so you name the date, time and place. I’ll serve the tea. Looking forward to your response.
Helen Zille
However, the EFF leader isn’t interested, if his reply is anything to go by. He basically suggested Zille might be “lost.”
United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader added to Malema’s reply, “Or Steinhoff CEO’s offices.”
Interviews with thought leaders
Zille, the former Western Cape Premier, started her podcast in August. She invites thought leaders to the show to discuss South Africa’s current affairs.
Her most recent guest was Wits Vice-Chancellor Prof Adam Habib.
Other guests have been journalists Max Du Preez, Peter Bruce and Ferial Haffajee.
The former DA leader decided to invite Malema after conducting a Twitter poll on Monday.
She asked her Twitter followers to choose between Malema and former President Thabo Mbeki. 77% chose Malema.
Zille may now have to approach Mbeki after Juju’s not-so-subtle rebuff.
