Rapper Nasty C leads Mzansi’s pack of talent to this year’s All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) with an incredible nine nominations.
AFRIMA announced the nominations on Monday and several South African artistes have scored nominations.
Nasty C is not only the most nominated South African artiste, but also the most nominated overall.
His nominations include Artiste of the Year in Africa; Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa; Song of the Year in Africa; and Producer of the Year in Africa,
He also bagged nominations for Best African Rapper/Lyricist; Best African Collaboration; Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Hip-Hop; Song Writer of the Year in Africa; and Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African R&B and Soul.
The SMA hitmaker celebrated his nominations on social media.

Another Mzansi artiste who hit it big was Prince Kaybee who bagged six nominations, including Song of the Year in Africa and Producer of the Year in Africa.
Sho Madjozi and Sjava also have four nominations, including a big one – Album of the Year.
DJ Zinhle has a chance to clinch the Best African DJ award after bagging the nomination along with Prince Kaybee and DJ Black Coffee.
This year’s AFRIMA ceremony, which will be the sixth edition, is scheduled for 20-23 November in Lagos, Nigeria. Voting starts on 1 September.
