Metro FM has distanced itself from a controversial Twitter poll on new Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi.
The poll was posted on the radio station’s Twitter account on Saturday morning. It has since been deleted.
It asked the question, “What do you think of the new Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi? Is she: Stunning; Just OK; Wrong choice?”
The poll left many Twitter users outraged, as they felt that Metro FM was trying to cast doubt on whether Zozibini was a deserving winner or not.
Still can’t believe they went so low just to get RT’s & likes; disappointing for a big Radio station like Metro FM.

is gorgeous, well-spoken and MULTITALENTED! Have y’all heard her sing?!
This poll made me feel all sorts shame for being a MetroFM listener. Why would you even have wrong choice as an option? We deserve a public apology from the station to our newly crowned queen @zozitunzi.

Metro FM soon posted an apology indicating that the poll had not been approved or endorsed.
Metro FM dos not stand for the content of this poll and distance ourselves from it. We consider this to be totally against our ethos and brand value.
