25-year-old Zozibini Tunzi has emerged as 2019’s Miss South Africa.
The Eastern Cape-born Tunzi overcame stiff competition from 14 other contestants to clinch the coveted crown on Friday evening.
The star-studded and colourful ceremony took place at the Sun Arena in Tshwane.
Tunzi will now be South Africa’s hope at upcoming global beauty pageants. She takes over the mantle from 2018’s winner Tamaryn Green.
She particularly endeared herself to fans across the country with her natural looks.
Tunzi appeared to have won over the judges as well when she spoke passionately about education and how important it is.
I am firm believer in education, and I would advise that they push education. We might not be able to do much for elders, but we can do so much for children by starting them early.

Just a month ago, she was excited at making the finalists, adding, “I’m extremely humbled and grateful for the opportunity.”
Now her dreams have come true and she’s truly on top of the world. Congratulations!
