Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor is literally leading from the front after graduating with a PhD in Education from the University of Pretoria (UP) on Tuesday afternoon.
Dr Pandor posted a short video of her graduation on Twitter soon after achieving the enviable milestone.
The university revealed that Dr Pandor’s supervisor was Prof Chika Sehoole, Dean of UP’s Education Faculty.
Dr Pandor’s family and friends, including Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, attended the ceremony.
The Minister said she’s an advocate of continuous learning and urged everyone to learn as much as they can.
Among those who took to Twitter to congratulate the Minister were Minister in the Presidency Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and former Public Protector Prof Thuli Madonsela.
Dr Pandor’s daughter Aisha Pandor also shared the proud moment on Twitter.
She tweeted, “So proud and excited to watch my mom DR @NalediPandor officially receive her PhD in Education from @UPTuks. Welcome to the club mom!!”
